CHOOSING A TEMPLATE
HTML template buying checklist: what to check before you buy
Buy the template that fits the site you can maintain. Check the actual download language, page structure, form behavior and license before judging the cover image. An English product page does not necessarily mean the downloaded website is in English.
A static HTML template is a useful starting point when you or your developer can edit HTML and CSS and manage publishing. If you need staff to change pages in a visual editor, or need a connected shop, membership service or booking system immediately, plan that editing system and backend before purchasing.
1. Start with the files, language and page list
Confirm whether you receive plain HTML, a framework project or a theme that depends on a particular platform. Ask which files to open, whether a build step is needed, and which assets must stay with them. Do not assume that every template ZIP uses the same setup.
For LANSO’s five English editions below, including PaywaveJP, the download includes the original Japanese pages and English pages inside en/. Check each product’s current edition notice before paying.
List the pages your project requires: a landing page, company profile, services, articles, contact and legal information. A link to a blog in a preview does not prove that a working content management system is included.
2. Match the structure to your business
Use these actual LANSO previews to compare content structure. The examples contain fictional businesses, sample claims and demo interfaces. Their product prices below are one-time template prices in JPY, including tax; prices inside the template demos belong to fictional businesses.

3. Separate a form demo from message delivery
A form may validate fields, show another step or display a completion state without sending anything. LANSO’s included contact and consultation forms are frontend demos. They do not save enquiries, notify your team or confirm appointments.
Choose the receiving service, server endpoint or booking provider separately. Before launch, verify a real submission at its destination and test invalid input and delivery failures. Never place a secret key in browser code. MDN explains how an HTML form sends data to a server.
4. Try the preview on a phone and with your content
Inspect menus, long headings, pricing rows and contact links at a narrow viewport. Try the keyboard and check that text remains readable. A desktop screenshot cannot establish how the page behaves on another screen. MDN’s responsive-design guide explains the layout techniques behind this.
Your photographs and copy may have different proportions from the samples. Plan time to replace fictional testimonials, business addresses, qualifications and legal placeholders. If a section makes a claim you cannot support, rewrite or remove it.
5. Decide who will publish and maintain it
The template purchase does not include a domain, hosting, a visual editing platform or an ongoing maintenance service. Assign an owner for content changes, backups and third-party forms. A static host can serve HTML files: Cloudflare’s static HTML guide describes one option, and its Direct Upload guide describes folder or ZIP uploads. Check the provider’s current limits and costs separately.
LANSO’s one-project license allows customization and delivery of the completed website for your own site or one client project. It does not allow redistributing the reusable template source as a product. Additional independent projects need additional licenses. Read the purchase conditions and linked full Japanese terms, including delivery, support and refund conditions.
A checklist before checkout
- The download contains the language and pages my project needs.
- I understand the file format and can edit it, or have a developer who can.
- I have reviewed the live preview on desktop and a phone.
- I know which forms and interfaces are demos and how I will connect real services.
- I have budgeted for hosting, a domain, integrations and ongoing changes.
- The license covers my one project, and I have read delivery and refund conditions.
If these checks pass, compare the current English templates. After purchase, follow the editing and publishing guide. If the file format or delivery terms remain unclear, ask before buying.
